Re: Frinton/Walton
Frinton has a wealthy feel about it. Walton feels run down but it's right next door but in the same Tendring council If you go through Walton up to the Naze that has a different feel altogether and feels more like Frinton

Spent many a summer at Naze Marine caravan site , carrying water to wash up with and walking to the shower/toilet blocks,

Spending my holiday money on the roller ghoster bumper cars and the waltzer.

Took my then gf and her daughter there , kids still love things like that.

It depends what you're after, really. Both towns have clean, shallow sandy beaches which for young families are great to picnic on, play cricket, build sandcastles, fish... Neither place ever promised to be Rio or Tahiti.

Depressing might not be the right word
and no doubt kids have a great time on holiday as i did in the summer 6 weeks and will always do.

good clean beach, ice cream, pier, ticks all the boxes.

Lived on a boat at the marina which is just outside for a while in my teens.

It's nothing to do with council money. All the National Parks are rammed out during the summer.

Spent the weekend down Hastings/St leonards visiting me Mum... have to say it was glorious down there... new pier is looking splendid as well.... and have to say the Indian on the front at St leonards had some the best tucker I have had in a long time... pricey but superb... I like it down there... has a very hippyish/bohemian feel about the place... and to me as Seaside towns go it looks like it has had plenty of dosh thrown at it...
